Why are most Americans so obedient and subservient to their employers?

It is fear of losing jobs. The unions are unfortunately not as powerful as they once were. So places like Walmart and other non-union employers can dictate the terms of employment. So they either suck it up or find a job elsewhere. Since there are few jobs elsewhere now, there's few alternatives.
